Hi gang. sorry I was not able to get this confirmation out earlier in the week, but we WILL have the users group meeting tonight at 6pm. Please shoot me a message if you will be able to attend so I have an idea of how many are coming. We are going to kick things in high gear in 2010 and make it our goal to have meetings every month but I need your help. please let me know what topics you would like to see covered, and if you would like to lead a meeting. I know that the members of the group have all done neat projects worthy of sharing and sharing our experiences as a group will help us all. I will be giving a presentation tonight on COPSS (Cisco open platform for safety and security). COPSS is a security architecture that combines physical security (video surveillance, access controls, etc) IP based sensors, radio systems (UHF/VHF), unified communications resources, etc. to allow for efficient response to natural disasters, security threats, etc. I encourage you all to attend if possible to give 2010 a strong kick-off. |

Hi Gang.. its Mike and I have a question for the users group members. what do you think about the idea of a virtual study group? I was thinking that we could get together once a week for and hours or 90 minutes and form a virtual group that would leverage the packet tracer program that we have used in bootcamps. In order to make this work well, it would have to be community led. In other words, this would be weekly sessions on ccna or ccnp level (up to you guys) and we would focus on doing labs that we come up with or free ones we find on the web or in books, etc. the main goal would be to work on problems and learn as a group. I am more than willing to host and to participate but wanted to make sure that this is something the users group members are interested in, as I would be doing this in my free time and dont have a great deal of interest in sitting on a web-ex by myself once a week hoping someone will join. lol if you are interested, message me either by email, on the group facebook page or on this website. thanks, Mike |
